Cyberpunk 2077 Player Finally Finds An Unlocked Door In Night City

Like many open-world video game metropolises, Night City is full of doors that don’t open. That’s likely because there’s nothing behind them so there’s no reason for the player to go in there. It might even be detrimental to their experience if they happen to fall through the map--a common occurrence in Cyberpunk 2077.

As it takes a monumental effort to make a sprawling virtual city, we can't really blame Cyberpunk developer CD Projekt Red for not creating an apartment behind every locked door. But trying to pick your way through every single door in Night City can still be a bit frustrating.

So imagine Reddit Insatiate__Ire’s initial delight after finally finding a door that opens. And then imagine that crushing disappointment when it turns out that door just leads to another door. And then that door just leads right back to the street.

If you're thinking that CD Projekt might eventually expand Night City's interior spaces, think again. CD Projekt's recent job ads point at other priorities for Cyberpunk 2077's future development, including "optimizing destruction assets," improving NPC artificial intelligence, and implementing new physics features.

There’s also an ad for a level designer, but one designer isn’t likely to make thousands of apartments on their own.
